2014 saw the undertaking of a new challenge for CFS Events in the form of a series of small educational conferences for a Pharmaceutical launching a new product within the respiratory world. The series of meetings were held throughout the UK with the aim of not only educating HCPs on the specific therapeutic area, but also with the aim of improving the referral pathways and communication across centres within the region.
CFS Events was involved from the very inception of these meetings, starting with venue sourcing and initial logistics right through to the attendance and on site management. The meetings often involved booking travel and arranging the logistics for the faculty members as well as obtaining speaker slides for approval through the client company’s approval system. This is increasingly becoming one of the more important tasks that we fulfil for pharmaceutical companies and it went well across the board. We’ve learnt a lot from the experience as well!
Other than purely a logistical role, we also managed a large budget and spread costs over a number of meetings. With weekly reports and an ongoing regular teleconference schedule, the client remained on top of things and content that everything was in hand throughout the process.

In 2014, CFS Events Ltd organised a new national study day in the area of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). The meeting was held in Ireland for all healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of ACHD and involved lectures and group discussions on the subject.
CFS Events was involved in this meeting from start to finish. Venue sourcing at the outset was completed with ample lead time remaining, and a meeting-appropriate venue was chosen. The CFS Events Ltd Team was subsequently put to the test when attendee numbers at the meeting reached 200% of the expected capacity just 2 weeks before the meeting: The decision was taken by the client for a new venue to be found and approved at late notice in order to accommodate the increased numbers. This meeting involved booking travel and arranging the logistics for the faculty members as well as obtaining speaker slides for approval through the client company’s approval system.
Given the location of this meeting, Irish CPD and European CME points had to be applied for prior to the event. Both are arduous processes but the CFS Events Ltd Team did a sterling job in obtaining all of the necessary declarations and disclosure forms from speakers and faculty and submitted the applications on time – both of which were successful.
Given the increased numbers, CFS Events Ltd had to make logical decisions in order to manage the budget for this event to ensure the PO amount was not exceeded. A huge success for the Events Team.
